Happy New Year!

After a quiet evening at home (yes, we managed to stay up until midnight), we celebrated New Year's Day with our friends, the Pillsbury's. This was our 2nd annual New Year's Day Luncheon. Unfortunately, Ann was ill and could not attend but John and their 9 children came. The reason we made it to midnight? Steven spent the day making lasanga and meatballs. I had the easy part sauce and salad. My salad with balsamic vingarette (with fresh herbs) was a smash with Daniel...three helpings and no room for lasanga!!!!! Dessert was chocolate cupcakes, ice cream, cookies and hot chocolate. Yep, the kids were wired when they left for home.

We have soooo much fun with the kids....they were born in China and Vietnam. Funny, witty, quick, amusing....they definitely keep you on your toes!!!

We look forward to next year.

Last day at PUIG

(Carol writes)

This is my last day as an employee of PUIG Beauty USA. The company has decided to merge the Antonio Banderas brand into COTY USA. So, this leaves myself and 5 other co-workers without jobs. Hopefully, this will give me some bonding time with Samantha as I attempt to find employment during this bleak recession.

The kids are off to the Bahamas for a family trip. Their grandparents are celebrating their 5oth Wedding Anniversary and the whole family will be vacationing together. Congratulations to Lloyd and Marilou!

Searching for a Home

(Steven Writes 12/4/04)
Carol & I have been searching for a home for almost a year now. We came across this property in the City of Poughkeepsie and it was shown to us by a realtor. The house is structurally sound and sits on a solid foundation. The build has been an OB/GYN office for almost 60 years and has been empty since 2000. The inside is a mess and will need some serious renovation efforts. No kitchen and no running water; minor details?! On the positive side, it's located on a corner lot in a nice section of the city and comes with the adjacent lot that is currently paved as a parking area. Besides, Carol wants it... I guess there’s no need to look further?!

The Day After the Wedding

(Steven Writes 10/3/04)
The wedding is over and today it was time to relax and enjoy the memories of the past few days. The wedding ceremony and the reception were just "storybook". Carol glowed with the radiance expected of a new bride. She was just beautiful and gracious, (of course). The months of planning and stresses came to a head after the toasting was over; Carol broke down and wept. The emotional relief was just incredible. All in, she planned a perfect wedding, she can boast about for the rest of her life. Below are pictures of the B&B we rented out for the ladies of the bridal party. Everyone was invited to the house for breakfast. Most chose to go elsewhere. Those that did attend were greeted with a beautiful morning and a magnificent view of the Bear Mountain Bridge looking south down the Hudson River.

Wedding Rehersal Dinner

(Steven writes 10/1/04)
What an evening. The rehersal at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church went well. After about an hour of practice and instruction from Father Carl Johnson, we all headed to the Napper Tandy restaurant in Monroe, NY to have dinner. We rented out the main dining room were ~60 of our closest friends and family sat down to a great meal. The kids table was adorned with goodie bags compliments on my fiance' who is forever amazing me with little details that make our lives extra special.

(Steven writes)
Mother arrived today at the bed & breakfast we rented out in Montgomery, NY; just over the Bear Mountain Bridge. Kris and Victoria got their wedding attire in Newburgh and we all went to the B&B to wait for Grammy to show up. Mother arrived in the early afternoon. After getting Carol, Victoria and Mom settled in at the B&B for the duration of the wedding festivities, we all headed out to a local restaurant close by to have dinner. Of course we were the only ones in the place, because certain "Floridians" eat at around 5PM. So, the service was "el rapido!".

Kris & Victoria have grow up so fast. Hard to believe that they were once toddlers just a few "winks of an eye" ago. It is so enjoyable to be able to sit around a table and talk as adults about the current events and their lives. Below are some of the pix of the evenings wonderful moments.
